Message from the 60th Annual Meeting Co-Chairs:
On behalf of the Program Committee, we are thrilled to welcome you to the ASDP 60th Annual Meeting (Meeting), our second annual hybrid meeting with a choice of virtual and in-person attendance. As a group we are experienced and yet still fresh and new at 60! Your feedback informed the design and programming of the meeting; these are some of the highlights you can expect this year:
- Once again, the meeting will offer the option to attend in person or only virtually.
- The online-only portion of the Meeting will be broadcasted on Thursday, October 5, at 8 a.m.
- The in-person portion of the Meeting will begin Friday, October 6, at 8 a.m. CT and will be streamed live in the online Meeting platform.
- The Meeting registration fee includes admission to all Plenary Sessions, Oral Abstracts, Poster Defense, breakfasts, lunches and receptions. The differential pricing in the virtual and in-person registration fees is due to the added cost of continuing to offer a simultaneous streaming option, which remains popular among some members. We hope many will be able to attend in person.
- ASDP members attending in-person on Saturday, October 6, are invited to join us for the Annual Membership Business Meeting and Luncheon (this event will not be live-streamed).
- The optional program, consisting of Consultations, Seminars and the Self-Assessment Course pre- and post-tests require additional fees, as does the in-person Annual Society Dinner.
- Back by popular demand, this year’s Meeting will be preceded by pre-meeting Consultations only held Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4. Consultations and Seminars will be only held virtually in a Zoom setting and will run from Monday, October 2 - Thursday, October 5, with Consultations offered as part of the pre-meeting program Monday, October 2-Wednesday, October 4, only, and Seminars only offered on Thursday, October. 5. Remember that you must register for each session to gain entry to the Zoom meeting and access additional materials provided by each session director.
- In light of the recent transition of the American Board of Dermatology Continuing Certification Program (ABD CCP) and American Board of Pathology Continuing Certification (ABPath CC) to CertLink®, the Self-Assessment Course has been revised to better meet the continuing education needs of practicing dermatopathologists, and no longer offers CCP/CC credits. However, participants are still able to claim AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM for this activity, which qualify for Component II: CME Attestation credits of ABD CCP and Part II: Lifelong Learning credits of ABPath CC requirements.
- The popular Meet the Program Directors and Young Physicians’ Breakfast will return again on Saturday morning, October 7. If you are a resident hoping to pursue dermatopathology, Meet the Program Directors is not to be missed! Fellows and physicians in their first seven years of practice are invited to the Young Physicians’ Breakfast, an invaluable networking opportunity!
There’s lots more planned for this fall! Be sure to review the detailed meeting schedule to find out what’s in store.
Registration is now open and we hope to see you in Chicago, or on the virtual meeting platform, this fall!
